About
I'm Christopher Routh. As a criminal trial lawyer, I have dedicated my entire life and career to defending people — particularly Mississippians — charged with crimes.
I attended Mississippi College and Mississippi College School of Law, where my journey in criminal defense began through internships with the Capital Defense Counsel division of the Office of the State Public Defender, helping represent people facing the death penalty. After law school, I started my career as a Public Defender. Public Defenders sometimes get a bad rap, but that work is where I found my drive and passion — and more importantly, where I built the skills and experience to represent people facing the most serious problems of their lives. I tried hundreds of cases. I learned the ins and outs of the courtroom. I fought for people and I won.
Beyond the courtroom, I have pursued my craft through nationwide trainings including Gideon's Promise, the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, and the National Criminal Defense College. I am also a proud member of the Mississippi Association for Justice and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. These experiences have sharpened the skills I bring into the courtroom every single day to defend people's rights, lives, and freedom.
With over a decade of experience trying and winning cases — from misdemeanor drug possession to Capital Murder — I have the skills, the experience, and the fight to help anyone facing any criminal charge.
You may have heard the expression, "Do one thing and do it well." I don't handle car wreck cases, divorces, or estates — though I'm happy to help find someone who does. Criminal defense is all I do. I represent people charged with crimes, and I do it well. All day. Every day.
