About

I’m Christopher Routh. As a criminal trial lawyer, I have dedicated my entire life and career to defending people, particularly Mississippians, charged with crimes.

I attended Mississippi College and Mississippi College School of Law, where I started my life as a criminal defense attorney with several internships at the Capital Defense Counsel division of the Office of the State Public Defender, helping to represent people against whom the State was seeking the death penalty. After law school I began my career as a Public Defender. While Public Defenders sometimes get a bad rap, doing that work is where I gained the drive and passion, and most importantly, the skills and experience to represent folks with the most serious problems in their lives. I tried hundreds of cases. I learned the ins and outs of the courtroom. I fought for the people and won.

In addition to my work, I have attended nation-wide trainings like Gideon’s Promise, the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College and the National Criminal Defense College. I’m a member of the Mississippi Association for Justice and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. These trainings and organizations have contributed to the skills and experience I use in the courtroom every day to defend people’s rights, lives and freedom.

With over a decade of experience trying and winning every type of case from misdemeanor drug possession to Capital Murder, I have the skills, experience and fight to help anyone with any criminal charge they may be facing.

Have you ever heard the expression “Do one thing and do it well”? I don’t do car wrecks cases or family matters like divorces or estate, although I can assist in finding someone who can does. Criminal work is all I do. I represent people charged with crimes and I do it well. All day. Every day.
